About the Role
As a Project Engineer Transitions at Z Modular, you will play a key role in bridging construction closeout and property operations. This position requires strong coordination, organizational, and communication skills, and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to delivering move-in-ready properties on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.
You will collaborate with Project Managers, subcontractors, property management teams, and third-party vendors to track punch list completion, assemble closeout documentation, and manage schedules and budgets. This is a full-time role requiring both office and field presence, located in [Insert Location].

What Youll Do
Track and verify completion of punch list items, escalating issues to Project Manager and subcontractors.
Assist with field walks and acceptance inspections prior to turnover to Asset Management.
Compile warranties, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings, maintaining organized digital files in Procore or similar platforms.
Draft close out checklists and assemble turnover packages for property teams.
Log, review, and route submittals and RFIs to designers and trade partners for approval.
Draft and monitor change order requests, tracking cost impacts.
Update look ahead schedules and master schedule of values under Project Manager direction.
Verify quantities for pay applications and monitor budget line items.
Schedule and document weekly OAC and Transition meetings.
Facilitate communication between construction teams, property management, and vendors.
Review site logistics and amenity layouts, identifying potential turnover risks.
Monitor compliance with OSHA and company safety protocols during final construction activities.
Suggest process improvements to shorten transition timelines and reduce rework.
Participate in lessons learned sessions and contribute ideas for future projects.
Travel to project sites for inspections and coordination (approximately 25 to 40 percent).
Perform additional tasks assigned by senior project staff to ensure successful turnover.
Who You Are
0 - 3 years of experience in construction, property transitions, or modular/prefab manufacturing; co-op or internship experience is valued.
Associates or Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science, or related field preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and blueprint interpretation.
Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, and cost control processes.
Familiarity with safety regulations, risk management, and compliance standards.
Strong analytical, organizational, and attention to detail skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively under Project Manager direction.
Certifications such as OSHA-10, Procore Student Certification, or CAPM are a plus.
Eligible to work in the United States and able to travel domestically.
