Job DescriptionAECOM's transportation team in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Entry-Level Bridge Engineer to work in the bridge/structures group.
This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.
The Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with the completion of field inspections on a regular basis of in-service bridges throughout North Carolina.
- Contributes within specific domains of the field.
- Develops an awareness of standard practices, techniques, and procedures under supervision.
- Researches alternate solutions and design options in support of the project team, e.g. white paper research, code review.
- Provides analysis to support development of design ideas and solutions.
- Communicates and collaborates with full design team and others.
- Supports and assist the development of work products such as specifications, drawings, and illustrative graphics.
- Follows specific, detail instructions and set of technical approach for design.
- Develops details, edit specific and an awareness of QMS procedures.
- Assists in preparation of designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field or AA/AS Degree + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid U.S. Drivers License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
- As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to record field notes using a hand-held computer.
- Basic knowledge of word processors and spreadsheet tools (Such as Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Experience in CADD/drafting is strongly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
