Boiler Mechanic**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Boiler Technician to manage the facility's six boilers, which range in age from the 1960s to the 1980s, with two recently refurbished. The role involves maintaining multiple buildings spread across a non-climate controlled area. The technician will frequently walk around the facility, sometimes using a 4x4 for transportation. This position requires lifting between 50-75 pounds. This is a hands-on role that requires more than just boiler work, demanding strong mechanical aptitude.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on boilers.
+ Conduct preventive maintenance and repair tasks.
+ Manage pressure valves and water testing.
+ Perform electrical and HVAC-related tasks.
+ Ensure safety protocols are followed due to the presence of tanks and moving vehicles.
**Essential Skills**
+ Boiler troubleshooting and maintenance.
+ Shelby County First Class Steam Engineer license with a minimum of 5 years experience.
+ Ability to identify valves, pumps, and key components of the water treatment process.
+ High pressure steam and maintenance repair knowledge.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Forklift operation is a plus; training is available.
+ OSHA certification is advantageous.
+ Experience in a team environment with hourly, daily, or weekly initiatives.
+ Strong documentation and communication skills.

The work environment is non-climate controlled with multiple buildings that are not attached. The facility is located near a train yard with numerous tanks and moving vehicles, emphasizing safety as a high priority. The shift is Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm, with occasional adjustments to 7am-3pm. Overtime is typically limited to 50 hours and mostly occurs during winter months.

The pay range for this position is $52624.00 - $88000.00/yr.
