Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, in accordance with established company and client safety standards, and local / national codes, perform skilled electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance of facility electrical systems, and equipment up to and including 480V. Experience in higher voltage up 4.16Kv would be a bonus.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Perform a variety of electrical work such as installations, repairs, alterations, and maintenance of basic electrical equipment (such as panelboards, transfer switches, lighting systems, communication systems (CAT #6 & #6A).

  2. Knowledge of facility electrical systems, equipment, and components with the ability to identify failures, hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair.

  3. Ability to analyzes and troubleshoot basic electrical problems, replace defective parts, re-assemble affected equipment, and tests for proper operation.

  4. Perform preventive maintenance (PM's) as scheduled on facility equipment as required by the site recurring maintenance programs (CMMS).

  5. Perform a basic layout, and installation of electrical circuits, conduit runs, disconnects, load center panels, and other electrical work based on job or customer requirements, and local codes.

  6. Possess a basic ability to read, and comprehend blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes, and technical publications related to trade.

  7. Ensures all work meets prescribed standards of quality and ensures compliance with all laws, safety procedures, policies, and codes.

  8. Identifies and communicates opportunities for cost savings, productivity / efficiency improvements and safety improvements.

  9. Maintains necessary work records including equipment records, logs, and time sheets.

  10. Assists other maintenance personnel and departments on projects or task as directed.

  11. Understand and follow a stringent company and client safety program.

Skills, Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Must have a current valid state driver's license and means to get to work.
  • Minimum of four (4) year's work experience in a light to heavy commercial / industrial setting.
  • Possess a basic understanding of the current National Electric Code, electrical theory, and be comfortable working with higher voltages and three phase circuits.
  • Ability to perform multiple assignments, and prioritize work as required.
  • Experience with, and a basic knowledge of a facility lock-out / tag-out program. (Compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 control of hazardous energy)
  • A minimum of four (4) hours of formal training on the NFPA-70E code; basic understand arc-flash dynamics, hazard analysis, and PPE requirements for potential hazard is desired.
  • Possess interpersonal skills, and the ability to function as a viable team member in a facility service environment.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Temperatures of working environments may vary from cold (possibly below 20 degrees F) up to very warm (possibly above 90 degrees F). Work may be strenuous at times and may include bending conduit, lifting heavy objects, climbing, working from elevations, standing, pulling, pushing, stooping, and / or kneeling for extended periods.

Working Hours: Standard working shift is daylight, Generally 7:00AM until 3:30PM, Monday thru Friday. Overtime and emergency call-ins will be necessary on occasion to meet customer requirements or address a facility needs, and emergency or urgent situation.
