Turner Industries is looking for a full-time Instrumentation and Electrical Superintendent to lead our Instrument and Electrical Project work at the Suncor Energy Denver facility. This includes work that is self-performed and/or through the use of subcontractors. The Instrument & Electrical superintendent is the execution lead for projects' instrument, controls, and electrical scope. Their responsibilities include ensuring the scope is being executed safely in accordance with designs that adhere to industry standards, best practices, and Suncor Energy's engineering standards and practices. The Instrument & Electrical Superintendent is the primary point of contact for instruments & controls, along with the electrical scope within the project team. The Instrument & Electrical Superintendent functions in most phases in varying capacities to ensure the quality of IFC documents while delivering execution with little need to consult engineering. The Instrument & Electrical Superintendent supports the Capital Projects team, reporting to the Project Manager, and is directly responsible for managing the Instrument, controls & Electrical crafts, and sub-contractor execution of site work activities. The Superintendent is expected to live in the Greater Denver Area.
Essential Qualifications:
- Keep safe work at the forefront of all Instrument and Electrical work
- Knowledge of system tools, databases, and programs used to retain electrical system design details, inspection, and repair history (including IPS, AutoCAD, SAP)
- Subject matter expertise in the interpretation and application of electrical safety codes and site policies
- Contract management process understanding to aid in technical bid evaluation to select the most competent contractor
- Ability to provide technical assistance to contractors and field coordinators concerning instrumentation, control, and electrical scope
- Subject matter expertise in equipment closure, completion, and energization activities, loop check, including punch list management and PSSR process
- Diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Technology is a plus
- Experience as an Instrument & Electrical Field Coordinator or Supervisor on capital projects
- PMP or formal project management training (an asset)
- Strong foundational understanding of project execution
Compensation
Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
