We are currently searching for an Electro-Mechanical Technician II to join our Production team. This role will be performed on-site and is based in the Greater Twin Cities area at our Chaska, MN headquarters. Please note: There is no relocation offered for this role. The ideal candidate should reside in the Greater Twin Cities area.
The Electro-Mechanical Technician II performs a range of essential & mechanical assembly, testing, troubleshooting and repair tasks on medical devices, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards. This role involves both independent work and collaboration with team members, contributing to the efficient functioning of the production process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble, wire, program, test, and package electromechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies with minimal supervision
- Proficient at conducting functional testing of various systems, subassemblies, and components, ensuring adherence to quality assurance standards
- Assist in troubleshooting and making adjustments as required, contributing to the resolution of technical issues with minimal supervision
- Analyze test results on defective units to identify root causes of failure and perform necessary repairs with minimal support
- Record discrepancies and quality defect reports in production documentation, maintaining accurate records
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, technicians, and relevant personnel to address production issues
- Participate in cross-training initiatives and aim to become a subject matter expert in multiple areas of production
- Perform soldering of wires and terminals, including some through-hole components and minimal surface mount tasks
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
- Reports to the Production Manager
- Role is performed on-site only
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
- At least three years of related assembly and/or electromechanical technician experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in using electronics testing equipment and various fasteners, lubricants adhesives, and tools
- Ability in interpreting complex technical documentation, including schematic drawings, assembly diagrams, and bills of materials, ensuring accurate execution of work instructions
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and repetitive movement of both hands six to eight hours daily. Good manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs. on an occasional bases are also required
- Computer literacy, including MS Office experience and basic PC skills
- Certification to IPC / J-STD is a plus
- No travel required
- Proficient in wiring electrical control and power systems on mechanical and hydraulic assemblies, ensuring seamless integration and optimal functionality
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills essential for interacting with personnel in the organization
- Prioritizes safety in all aspects of work, maintaining a vigilant awareness of safety protocols and procedures to promote a secure work environment for oneself and others
