Central Washington Asphalt is seeking a qualified heavy-equipment Service Technician based in our Benton City, Washington, branch. Our ideal candidate will have experience in both agriculture and construction equipment. Your work assignments will be a mix of field and shop work. We are looking for an experienced heavy equipment mechanic who is skilled in diagnosing, repairing, and performs preventative maintenance on a variety of mechanical systems and equipment. Someone who can demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting complex issues and maintaining machinery. Key responsibilities include inspecting, disassembling, replacing parts, adjusting settings, and documenting repairs while adhering to safety regulations and industry standards. Candidates will perform service maintenance for Central Washington Asphalt and/or related equipment or components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical, computer and structural repairs including welding. Key Responsibilities Identifying malfunctions in mechanical systems through inspections, listening to operating sounds, and utilizing diagnostic tools to pinpoint problems. Diagnose, repair and maintain diesel equipment Accurate look-up of needed parts Maintain work area organization, safety and cleanliness Performing routine checks and servicing on machinery to prevent breakdowns, including lubrication, fluid level checks, and filter replacements. Disassembling components, replacing worn or damaged parts, and reassembling mechanical systems according to manufacturer specifications. Analyzing system failures, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to restore functionality. Performing major repairs or rebuilds of complex mechanical components like engines, transmissions, or hydraulic systems. Maintaining accurate repair records, including parts used, labor hours, and details of issues addressed. Following safety protocols, using proper personal protective equipment, and maintaining a clean work area. Responsibilities/Skills Comprehensive understanding of mechanical principles, including hydraulics, pneumatics, gears, bearings, and power transmissions systems. Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions Skilled use of variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment relevant to the industry.
