Structural Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Structural Engineer to join our Facilities Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, with a focus on commercial buildings. This role involves designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction, maintenance and operation budgets of building structures to ensure they meet all safety and regulatory standards.

As a structural engineer, your responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks essential for the successful completion of construction projects. You will be involved in designing and analyzing structural components for new commercial buildings and modifications to existing structures, ensuring they meet building codes and maintain structural integrity. Project management is a key aspect of your role, requiring you to oversee projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines. Additionally, you will conduct inspections of existing structures to assess their condition, recommend necessary repairs or upgrades, and develop maintenance plans to ensure long-term durability and safety. Collaboration with architects, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders is crucial to integrate structural designs with overall building plans and provide technical support to the Facilities Engineering team. Your role also involves preparing detailed engineering reports, drawings, and specifications, maintaining accurate records of all projects, and ensuring documentation is up-to-date and accessible. Lastly, you must ensure that all structural designs and projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.

Skills and Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on commercial buildings. Experience with facilities engineering is a plus.

Skills: Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS), AutoCAD, and other relevant tools. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
