In this pivotal role, you will:
Assemble and lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex, high-visibility projects on time and within budget
Develop and monitor detailed project schedules, identify and track key deliverables, and proactively mitigate risks
Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and logistics teams to ensure seamless integration and optimization of new automated systems
Identify and resolve roadblocks, coordinate interdependencies, and "herd the cats" to keep projects moving forward
Drive continuous process improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety across our fulfillment operations

Key job responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Project Leadership and Execution:
o Assemble and lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex, high-visibility projects on time and within budget
o Develop and monitor detailed project schedules, identify and track key deliverables
o Proactively mitigate risks and roadblocks to keep projects moving forward
2. Stakeholder Coordination and Integration:
o Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and logistics teams to ensure seamless integration and optimization of new automated systems
o Coordinate interdependencies between various workstreams and functions
o Effectively communicate project status, issues, and resolutions to senior leadership
3. Process Improvement and Optimization:
o Drive continuous process improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety across our fulfillment operations
o Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and leverage new technologies
o Implement best practices and lessons learned to improve future project delivery
4. Team Management and Mentorship:
o Motivate and empower cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious goals
o Provide coaching and guidance to help team members develop their skills and capabilities

By excelling in these key areas, you will play a crucial role in transforming our fulfillment network and delivering exceptional customer experiences through the implementation of new automation technologies.

A day in the life
Morning:
Start the day with a quick stand-up meeting with your core project team to review the plan for the day, address any blockers, and align on priorities.
Participate in a cross-functional coordination call with the engineering, construction, and logistics leads to discuss the latest progress, interdependencies, and upcoming milestones.
Review the latest project schedule and dashboard, identifying any risks or issues that require your attention.
Prepare for an upcoming steering committee meeting with senior leadership to provide a status update and seek guidance on a critical decision.
Midday:
Visit the construction site to inspect the progress of the automated material handling system installation, engage with the on-site teams, and identify any areas that need your intervention.
Facilitate a working session with the process engineering team to finalize the standard operating procedures for the new automated workflows.
Respond to emails and Slack messages from team members seeking your input or escalating time-sensitive matters.
Grab a quick lunch while reviewing the latest financial reports and cost projections for the project.
Afternoon:
Lead the steering committee meeting, presenting the project status, highlighting key risks and mitigation plans, and seeking guidance on the critical decision point.
Conduct 1-on-1 check-ins with your direct reports to provide feedback, address any concerns, and discuss their professional development.
Attend a virtual meeting with the global program management team to share best practices and lessons learned from your project.
Wrap up the day by updating the project plan, documenting key decisions, and preparing for tomorrow's activities.
Throughout the day, you'll need to maintain a keen eye for detail, a calm demeanor under pressure, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously. Your strong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills will be essential in driving these complex, high-impact projects to successful completion.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

10+ yrs in leading the execution of large scale material handling projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

PMP certification
Experience in leading the actual installation on site (Site Management) is extremely valuable.
