Incumbents in this position is responsible for assisting with operation and maintenance vactor truck to include maintaining fluid levels, grease fitting, and proper electrical function. This position is assigned to pay grade G12.
  • Assists in the daily operation of the combined sewer cleaning operations
  • Locates sewer manholes and cleanouts.
  • Sets up safe work zones.
  • Cleans sewer mains and locates areas that require cleaning.
  • Maintains traffic control around the vactor truck.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Six (6) months of collections equipment work experience or any related work field.
  • Possession of Class B CDL with tanker endorsement preferred. Must be able to obtain Class B CDL with tanker endorsement within 1 year of employment.
  • NC Grade 1 Collections certification is preferred.
  • This position will be placed on an On-Call rotation that requires a response within 30 minutes of notification.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid State of North Carolina driver's license.
