In the role of Environmental Engineer, we'll count on you to:

Perform complex assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures for environmental remediation projects that include remediation design and implementation
Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed
Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this position
Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed
Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Experience & Technical Skills
5 years in environmental engineering design (e.g., remediation systems, industrial wastewater, well design, pumps, pipes, ponds).
Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and GIS.
Strong project management skills, including managing multiple projects and teams.
Experience with CERCLA remediation, permitting, and regulatory compliance, especially for agricultural clients.
Skilled in field investigation and drilling program management, particularly in geologic and hydrogeologic settings.
Project & Team Leadership
Ability to lead and mentor junior staff, including technical oversight and quality control.
Coordinate and schedule field teams, especially within the Idaho Resources team.
Manage site investigations and remediation projects for state, federal, and private clients.
Oversee field data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
Communication & Documentation
Prepare reports and proposals, including scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
Comfortable with client interaction and presentations (in-person and virtual).
Collaborate with clients and regulators to develop strategies and recommendations.
Certifications & Preferences
40-hour HAZWOPER and MSHA 40-hour Underground Miner training preferred.
Local candidates are preferred.
A seller-doer mindset (business development + technical delivery) is a strong asset.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related Engineering field
Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for environmental engineering projects, such as remediation design and implementation
Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
