Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

This person will gain design experience supporting a crucial industry for manufacturing. They have projects confirmed for 5+ years. Their current process of manufacturing has been in place for 20-30 years. The ideal person will come in hit the ground running and make improvements for design efficiency. They will improve their skills within the industrial gearing industry.

Responsibilities Include

- Design custom gearing and enclosed gear units

- Perform dimensional layouts

- Perform gear geometry and gear rating calculation

- Perform bearing life calculation

- Prepare drawings and BOMs for shop

- Reverse engineer gearboxes for rebuild

- Interface with customers and sales staff on design of products

Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in engineering, preferably BSME or BSMET

- 4+ years with mechanical design experience

- Experience in some of the following- gear design geometric tolerance, gearbox rebuilds or bearing life calculation

- Experience with CAD (2D & 3D) (they use Pro/E)

Nice to Have

- New product development experience

- Lean manufacturing experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $53.00/hr.
