HVAC Mechanic/Steamfitter/Refrigeration
Department – Parks Maintenance
Hourly Pay Rate - $47.93 pr/hr

Job Summary:
Responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, repair, installation and alteration of HVAC and Refrigeration systems to protect and enhance Department assets.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform HVAC Inspections, Maintenance, Repair and related activities - Perform HVAC Inspections, Maintenance, Repair and related activities on departmental assets via a service vehicle. Including but not limited to, Steam Boilers, Compressors, Receivers, Condensers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, Valves, piping systems and duct systems.
- Perform HVAC system installations - Perform HVAC project installation work including but not limited to; Steam, boilers, Hot Water boilers, Water Chillers, Pumps, Valves and associated piping systems.
- Equipment maintenance - Inspect and maintain all equipment, tools and items related to the performance of job duties.
- Administration - Process purchase requests; inventory supplies; process electronic work orders, review blueprints, building codes and technical manuals; assist with project management; maintain logs; ensure relevant safety codes and regulations are followed.
Minimum Requirements
- Current resident of WI
- Valid WI Driver’s License
- Highschool Diploma/GED
- Candidates with one of the following qualifications will be considered:
- A. Completed steamfitter or refrigeration Apprenticeship with at least 3 years of journeyman experience.
OR
- B. Maintenance tradesman program with 5 years’ experience and 3 years of journeyman experience.
Additional Note –
- Experience Journeyman HVAC Service Fitter with competency in repair and diagnosis of HVAC systems.
or
- Journeyman HVAC Service Fitter with competency in the installation of equipment, piping and control systems.
License:
- EPA 608 TYPE 4 Universal CFC Handler Certification during application.
- Apprenticeship certification or Maintenance Tradesman Certification during application.
Note: This Original Examination is open to current residents of the State of Wisconsin. In accordance with Rule III section 11 of the Civil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of a review of candidate materials, education and related experience.
