JOB REQUIREMENTS: Under the direction of the Tool Room/Fabrication

Manager, the Manufacturing Engineering Technician will assist with

setting up CNC mills, troubleshooting, training production personnel,

work towards Continuous Improvement of existing products and provide

technical support to the operations team as needed. The Manufacturing

Engineering Technician will act in a manner that is consistent with

Gordon Aluminum\'s Customer 1st Philosophy. Essential Duties and

Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not

all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and

responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

Sets up CNC equipment for the fabrication department. Focus will be on

advanced setups and historically problematic setups. Troubleshoots

medium to high complexity problems through analyzing information and

evaluating results to propose and choose the best immediate and long

term solutions. Trains production Set-up Operators to advance their

ability and raise overall proficiency. Identifies and executes

meaningful improvement opportunities and promptly seeks his or her next

task, while requiring minimal supervision. Maintains CNC tooling and

supports preparing tooling for planned production runs. Edits programs

in the language of a machines controller and manages file directories

for accuracy. Possesses a strong understanding of the principles of

machining to select the proper tooling and establish appropriate cutting

parameters. Evaluates the sequence of machine operations, the proper

cutting tools needed to attain the highest quality part in the most

efficient manor, while achieving the greatest part profitability.

Demonstrates strong understanding and ability to read and edit programs

for identifying errors and efficiency opportunities. Observes and

analyzes machining cycles to identify and implement waste and time

saving opportunities. Derives work instructions or setup sheets to

effectively communicate required procedure to the operations team.

Successful candidates will be proficient in using typical Microsoft

Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc). Ability to manage and

prioritize his or her schedule and workload for on time delivery of

tasks and projects. Conducts themselves in a professional manner,

treating all individuals with respect and taking on tasks with a

and basic metrology. Calipers, micrometers, indicators, depth

micrometers, etc. Proficient in setting up, operating and

troubleshooting CNC mills. Strong and effective communicator, both

verbally and written. Basic Microsoft Office skills. Word, Excel,
