What youll do as a Coax Splicer

+ Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of cable

+ Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation

+ Basic daily maintenance of provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicle

+ Self-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications

+ Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed (potentially climb poles)

+ Complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete \"as-built maps\" for areas built and track daily production

+ Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts

+ Frequently work independently

+ Other splicing related duties as assigned

What youll need

+ To be 18 years of age or older

+ Authorization to work in the United States for this company

+ Ability to distinguish colors

+ Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

+ Possess a valid drivers license (class \"C\" minimum) or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position (possibly class \"B\" - light commercial)

+ Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card

+ Must be authorized to work in the United States

Additional qualifications

+ Ability to read and build from blueprints and/or wire diagrams

+ Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber

+ OSP telecommunication construction experience; cable experience

+ Experience in splicing, balancing, and documenting CATV systems

Physical abilities & exposures

+ Routinely: Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance. Must be able to work in all weather conditions

+ Occasionally: Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary

Salary Range $23 - $30 per hour.
