As a Structural Engineer at DLR Group you will be responsible for the design of structural systems from schematics through construction administration on a wide range of building types. As part of the integrated design team you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design.Position SummaryYou will be responsible for designing structural building systems and preparing detailed structural engineering drawings and calculations. Responsibilities will also include construction administration services and collaboration with architectural and engineering teams.The successful candidate will:Develop structural designs from concept through completion of constructionPrepare engineering design calculations and structural system layoutsPrepare detailed engineering reports and narrativesCoordinate structural design requirements with architecture, structure and other disciplinesProduce construction documents using RevitWrite and review specificationsReview shop drawings, RFIs and submittalsConduct site visits when neededCollaborate with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design processRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural EngineeringLicensed Professional Engineer (PE)6+ years of buildings structural engineering experience, including the design of concrete, masonry, steel, wood materials; gravity and lateral systemsWorking knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc)Goal oriented with strong skills in problem solving, creativity, and attention to detailUnderstanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assembliesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural EngineeringLicensed Professional Structural Engineer (SE) or pursuing licensingExperience and interest in sustainable building designExperience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow DLR Group is an integrated design firm delivering architecture, engineering, interiors, planning, and building optimization for new builds, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects.We are 100% employee-owned: every employee is literally invested in our clients' success.
