Job Type Full-time Description Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Corp. Minneapolis, MN Position: Welder - 2nd shift Team: Fabrication Team Primary Objective of Position: A Welder is responsible for setting up, fabricating and welding complex parts using various welding processes. A Welder works with a high degree of detail adhering to safety and quality standards. Major Areas of Accountability: + Set up and fabricate a wide variety of components using various welding processes, primarily FCAW and GMAW. + Use oxygen-acetylene, oxygen-natural gas, plasma arc and carbon-arc equipment to heat, straighten, trim and bevel ferrous and non-ferrous material. + Read drawings and routings to determine method, sequence of operation, position, tolerances and welding specifications, to include proper filler materials, fluxes and weld machine settings. + Make all necessary layouts and setups using proper tools and fabricating equipment. + Uses portable electric or air driven grinding or chipping equipment. + Perform self-inspection and documentation of welded components. + Provide feedback on rejected welded components, and may determine disposition of rework for rejection report. + Works in other areas of the Fabrication Team skills matrix, may work in other areas fabricating parts and brazing. + Lift and move materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane. + Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day to day work. + Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: + 1-2 year welding degree or High School degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant welding experience. + Must pass a FCAW 3G and GMAW-SC 2G weld test. + Knowledge of layouts, ability to read blueprints, perform basic math and calculate conversions. + Ability to be certified in overhead and Jib crane operation and forklift operation. Salary: + 1st Shift; salary range $20.00 hourly to $26.00 hourly + 2nd Shift salary range $20.00 hourly to $26.00 hourly (plus $2.00/hour differential) + Will compensate with experience. Position is full-time. Pay Types $2.00 Shift Differential Voluntary weekend overtime. Saturday is paid at time and a half, Sundays are paid at double time!
