Construction Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to lead the construction of data center campus utility infrastructure , specifically focused on concrete-encased duct banks , manhole systems , sub-duct installations , and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations. This role requires strong field leadership, deep technical knowledge, and experience managing large-scale underground construction in high-demand environments. Key Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day construction of concrete-encased duct banks , manhole placements , and sub-duct systems for electrical and fiber pathways. Coordinate horizontal directional drilling (HDD) activities, including pre-planning, permitting, utility locates, and oversight of drill crews. Interpret and implement construction drawings, civil plans, and redlines; ensure field teams meet design and quality specifications. Direct excavation, trenching, backfill, conduit placement, and sub-duct installation while maintaining proper spacing, concrete coverage, and alignment. Ensure testing and verification processes (mandreling, vacuum testing, etc.) are completed to spec prior to turnover. Communicate with contractors, vendors, inspectors, and utility owners to keep the project on track. Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Manage material logistics, equipment use, labor assignments, and issue resolution in the field. Track project milestones, update documentation, and provide progress reports to leadership. Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal construction codes and permitting requirements. Qualifications: 5+ years of construction management experience in underground utility work , preferably on data center or mission-critical campuses . In-depth knowledge of duct bank construction , sub-ducting , manhole setting , and HDD operations . Ability to lead and manage subcontractors and self-perform crews in high-volume, fast-paced environments. Strong understanding of applicable standards (NEC, NESC, municipal codes). Proficient in reading and interpreting civil and electrical drawings and scopes of work. Familiar with permitting, inspection, and environmental compliance requirements. Experience with jobsite documentation tools such as Procore , Bluebeam , or similar. OSHA 30 certification required. Valid driver's license with a clean record. Preferred: Background in fiber optic and electrical pathway infrastructure. Competent person trenching and excavation certified. Experience working with EPCs and large general contractors. First Aid/CPR certified.
