We train our employees with up-to-date technology to make and distribute the finest asphalt products on the market.Your day to day as a PROJECT SUPERINTENDENTAs a Full-Time Project Superintendent at J T Russell and Sons, Inc, you will serve as the vital link between clients, subcontractors, and onsite personnel, ensuring seamless communication throughout large heavy highway and roadway projects. Your responsibilities include coordinating and scheduling subcontractors, overseeing earthwork and grading activities, and managing critical project information to keep the project team informed. You will lead multiple Foremen to promote safe and productive work practices while coordinating manpower, heavy equipment, and material needs effectively.With a strong focus on meeting labor and production schedules, you will ensure projects remain on time and within budget, enhancing profitability. Additionally, you will maintain accurate project logs, documentation, and progress reports, ensuring that work is conducted to the highest quality standards and specifications. Collaborating with the Operations Manager, Project Manager, and Project Engineers, you will drive overall project direction, emphasizing safety, production, and profitability, while also assuming supervisory duties in alignment with company policies.What you need to be successfulTo excel as a Full-Time Project Superintendent at J T Russell and Sons, Inc, candidates must possess a minimum offive yearsof experience in a Superintendent role focusing on roadway and highway heavy civil projects. A background in managing large-scale roadway, site, utility, and pipe projects is essential. Applicants should demonstrate a solid understanding of safety regulations and company policies, applying innovative management techniques to enhance team performance. Strong reading comprehension skills for technical documents and excellent verbal communication abilities are crucial for effective interactions with clients and project stakeholders. Additionally, an in-depth knowledge of industry practices and standards is necessary to identify quality control issues and recommend solutions.Successful candidates will manage teams from various trade disciplines, showcasing demonstrated leadership and the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently. A self-starter mentality combined with effective interpersonal skills is vital for fostering productive collaborations on the job site.Knowledge and skills required for the position are:- REQUIRED Minimum of Five(5) years' experience on roadway/ ighway heavy civil projects in a Superintendent capacity- Large Scale Roadway, Site, Utility, and Pipe Projects Required- Construction Management or equivalent technical experience progressing through the ranks as a Journeyman to a Foreman to a Superintendent.- Understand and interpret safety laws and company policies/standards.- Apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activity's vitals.- Excellent reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals- Excellent verbal communication skills, especially when addressing customers, clients, or project meetings- Quality control of the project to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and the ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problems- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied self-performing trade disciplines.- Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.- Ability to read, comprehend, and build out construction drawings, specifications, architectural drawings, and legal documentation- Self-starter and self-manger - Strong ability to manage multiple priorities - Demonstrated and proven leadership abilityAre you ready for an exciting opportunity?If this sounds like the right job for you, don't wait - apply today to join our team.
