Talley Construction has an immediate opportunity for an Asphalt Plant Operator in Chattanooga, TN

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate a hot mix asphalt plant
• Run raw aggregate and liquid asphalt materials through the mixing drum to be stored in silos until ready for delivery to the job sites or to be loaded into trucks
• Operate the asphalt plant computer systems
• Collaborate with the quality control team to inspect each batch of product to ensure a quality mix is being produced
• Assist the foreman and superintendents with material ordering, scheduling, inventory management, and record keeping
• Communicate with road crews, truck drivers, dispatchers, and customers
• Schedule and perform daily plant maintenance as needed
• Order and maintain inventory of plant parts, grease, asphalt oil
• Supervise daily activities and ensure safety policies are being followed
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to multitask and follow instruction.
• Must be respectful and cooperating with customers/drivers/coworkers.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must maintain a focus on safety
• Experience working with crushers, conveyors, and screens preferred
• General knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment
• General knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Welding skills are a plus, but not necessary
• 3 years of experience operating a hot plant preferred but not required
• Must be punctual, have a strong work ethic, and maintain a good attendance record
• Must have a positive attitude and work well with others when under pressure
• Lift/move up to 50 lbs. when necessary
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions when necessary
• Work overtime, nights, weekends, as needed
• Reliable transportation
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
