A Day in the Life...
Technical leadership/Project Management provides technical leadership implementing major capital projects at local manufacturing facility and company network. Assists in the procurement of all equipment and services in implementing projects. Manages and provides direction on assigned projects from concept through completion, including engineering, design, equipment selection, approval, procurement, performance, vendor selection and accountability to assure compliance with approved methods and quality standards. Deliver projects on time and under budget. Engineering - develop baseline documentation in the development of projects including plant and line layouts, process diagrams, estimates, schedules, and system descriptions. Utilize and manage outside engineering and vendor resources in the execution of the project. Maintains awareness on new and improved technology and effectively communicates the business case in the implementation of those technologies and projects at the plant level and withing the company network. Process optimization using advanced engineering skills and expertise, develop and implement improvements to process and packaging operations, facilities, and infrastructure. Interface with supervisors, mechanics, and operators in the development of process and/or equipment improvements to support improved reliability and operational effectiveness. Communications - Develop project documentation including monthly status reports, issue purchase orders and contracts to vendors. Provides regular updates on project status. Coaches and develops other team members in the implementation and operation of assigned capital projects.What We Are Looking For:
Bachelors degree in engineering or a closely related science field required
5-7 years experience managing projects and/or providing manufacturing engineering support.
Food and beverage or pharmaceutical experience preferred
Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, MS Project, MS Office) a must
Knowledge and application Lean and / or Six Sigma principles preferred
Strong financial acumen with experience managing projects of $200k plus
Sound familiarity with state and federal requirements (i.e., OSHA Regulations)
Ability to read and generate technical and equipment drawings (AutoCAD)
Hands-on experience working with vendors and proven negotiation skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills w/ability to influence and be persuasive
Capable of working on multiple projects and prioritizing workload
Able to work cross-functionally in team environment and at various organizational levels
Ability to facilitate meetings and conference calls
