Lets build a Seattle that works for everyone-together! Performs structural cement repair work and directs and leads subordinate workers assisting on ADA ramp, street panels, sidewalks and voids.
Assist in the maintenance, repair and construction of buildings and other facilities and in preparing walks and streets for asphalt and concrete paving operations, estimate materials and labor required, and appropriate method for repair.
Reads blueprints, drawings, construction plans and work orders are used in coordinating the work effort.
Contact with the public is occasional and incidental to the performance of the work.
Breaks out, removes, and replaces concrete ADA ramps, road panels, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and backfills voids. This includes troweling, edging, bull float, broom finish, measuring 2-foot square sidewalks, shaping, forming up, and finishing.
Repairs and installs decorative pavement including sidewalk tile and cobblestone, decorative brick made of clay, concrete or granite.
Performs other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.
Set up and take down Traffic Control Plans.
Attend preconstruction meetings.
Works with epoxy cement binder and injects concrete with epoxy using pressurized pumping equipment for work such as pothole repair and assisting operators with dig outs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
Completion of a journey-level cement finisher apprenticeship program or three years related experience in concrete construction, installation and repair.
Current Washington State driver's license.
Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in concrete work is required.
May also require appropriate crane certification as required by law.
OR: Combination of education, training and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability.
Though not requirements, strong candidates will have some of the following experience or are able to describe comparable experience:
Must read blueprints and job plans.
Must read TCP plans and experience setting up and taking down TCP's.
Experience leading construction crews.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
Required to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods of time.
Frequently required to lift objects in excess of 50 pounds.
Required to handle or work with toxic/hazardous substances.
Required to work outdoors in all types of weather around moving traffic.
