The Construction/Safety Inspector for the Village of Los Lunas is responsible for conducting daily safety inspections and quantity measurements on-site for various projects within the Streets, WWTP, Water, Sewer, and Fleet Divisions. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring maintenance and compliance with construction standards set by the Village of Los Lunas.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily safety inspections on construction sites to ensure adherence to safety regulations and standards.
  • Perform on-site quantity measurements to monitor project progress.
  • Conduct testing and inspections to verify compliance with construction standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve construction-related issues.
  • Document and report any safety violations, deficiencies, or non-compliance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, measurements, and test results.
  • Review construction plans and specifications to ensure compliance with Village standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to construction activities.
  • Provide support in coordinating construction projects, schedules, and timelines.
  • Participate in pre-construction and post-construction meetings.
  • Monitor and enforce environmental and safety regulations on construction sites.
  • Assist in the evaluation of contractors' performance and adherence to contractual agreements.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess work quality and progress.
  • Assist in identifying potential construction risks and implementing mitigation measures.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, safety regulations, and construction standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Four to six (4-6) years of experience in construction, construction safety, construction management, or construction inspecting.
  • New Mexico Class D Drivers License.
  • Knowledge of construction safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications and software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
