MISSION :
To operate Automated Inspection Equipment (AIE) utilizing software programs to measure dimensions on castings and fixtures, verifies measurement printouts from Tech Card information for non-conforming parts to meet PCC and customer specifications.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1 - Automated Inspection Equipment (AIE) Operations
Objective: to operate the AI Equipment to effectively and accurately inspect casting dimensions and ensure dimensional integrity; to measure dimensions for balancing and positioning of castings.
Essential Job Functions:
- Works from instructions to position castings on the automated inspection equipment.
- Selects and loads appropriate programs into the machine, per tech cards or SOP's.
- Follows instructions for placing and removing scale bars and reference targets per tech cards, PCPs, and SOPs.
- Initiates and monitors programs; operates AIE computers, software, and equipment.
- Responds to computer instructions and error messages during AIE operations.
- Calibrates and maintains AIE equipment per PCPs
- Notifies Metrology Analyst, AIE Technician or 3D Scanning Engineer of any errors or issues that arise outside the normal functionality of the system
- Addresses daily and weekly operator checklists for AI Equipment
- Maintains other peripheral equipment in area including painting systems and washing systems.
- Coordinates Part, and Job movement to support operations.
2 - Inspection Evaluation
Objective: to evaluate AIE computer inspection printouts for consistency with customer specifications and PCC standards.
Essential Job Functions:
- Reviews and interprets AIE inspection printouts.
- Marks parts for rework operations.
- Supplies reports and documentation on compliance with specifications.
- Generates layout inspection report on computer.
- Tests and troubleshoots inspection programs.
- Generate new techcards, upgrade older techcards.
- Generates airfoil contour plots and other specialized computer-generated output.
3 - Safety
Objective: to take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.
Essential Job Functions:

- Identifies and reports safety problems.
- Completes all logs and records.
- Meets all production and quality standards.

- Training is provided on the job.
- PCC's Forklift Driving Safety Certification Training must be completed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must Have:
- Ability to read, follow and interpret instructions on SOP's, Quality Control Manuals, Technique Cards, and technical specifications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), with geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to read, follow and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Physical ability to perform the essential job functions including lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to be flexible and be held accountable for each qualification.
