General Laborer Job Description We have four openings available for general laborers, with three positions lasting for two months and one position available for contract-to-hire. This role involves a variety of duties essential for the smooth operation of our facility. Responsibilities Attach large bags to a chute to catch silica material, operating a lever to control volume according to the order. Ensure the bag is on a scale to monitor weight. Lift 50 lb bags from a waist-high table and stack them on a nearby pallet, with new bags arriving every 30 seconds. Seal and scan labels onto filled bags of material. Potentially drive a forklift after one month of contract and training. May be asked to drive trucks into the facility after training, but not on public roads and not during the first month of the contract. Perform general cleanup of workstations. Essential Skills Proficiency in general labor tasks. Experience with hand tools, packing, and packaging. Ability to consistently lift 50 lbs. Capability to get respirator fit. Experience in loading, unloading, and working in hot/cold environments. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus. Experience in a similar role preferred. The average workweek is 45 hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays (50% of them). Work indoors 99% of the time, with open garage doors at each end of the facility, resulting in temperatures similar to those outside. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Thompson, Ohio. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
