SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Electrician and General Maintenance Technician plans the layout, installation, and repair of wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatuses, and control equipment.The Facilities Operations team is committed to providing the employees and residents at Rockingham County a safe, supported, and environmentally conscious environment. The Electrician/General Maintenance Technician is a vital part of our team who prepares sketches, reads diagrams/blueprints, measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduits and further, pulls/connects wiring to lighting fixtures/power equipment and splices, twists, and solders wire together. As part of our continual maintenance standards, the Electrician/General Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance, observes functioning of installed equipment/systems to detect hazards/need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement, tests continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments, and repairs faulty equipment/systems. The Electrician/General Maintenance Technician participates in a rotating on-call schedule, cross trains across the Facilities department, may assist co-workers with their job responsibilities, and is required to respond to emergency situations, such as snow removal, at the County Complex for up to 16 hours.
  • Five years of related experience and/or training in the Electrical Trade; and
  • New Hampshire Master Electricians License.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • NH Drivers License required.
