OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB

Repair automobiles, trucks, buses, and other vehicles. Repair and or rebuild virtually any part on the vehicle.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB

1. 1. Must perform required PA State Inspections to all FACT vehicles and are registered as such on Authority FACT fleet records.

2. Must perform diesel, gasoline, electric and/or CNG (as required) engine diagnosis, tune-ups, repairs, and rebuilding.

3. Must perform manual and automatic transmission diagnosis, repairs and rebuilding (as required).

4. Must perform electronic (possibly computerized) diagnosis, and as a result, make necessary repairs and/or rebuilds.

5. Must perform chassis repairs, maintenance, and lubrication.

6. Must perform preventive maintenance inspections per the manufacturer's recommendations and FACT requirements, and as a result, make any necessary repairs.

7. Must be certified (Sec. 608 and 609) and perform any air conditioning servicing and repairs.

8. Must perform all brake systems (hydraulic, air, electric, other) repairs. Must be certified, if r??quired.

9. Must perform all air system diagnosis and repairs.

10. Must perform any/all routine maintenance functions on all FACT vehicles.

11. Must perform all work associated with bodywork, painting and repairs.

12. Must perform fare box maintenance and repairs (manual and/or electronic) as necessary.

13. Must perform road calls and road testing in all weather conditions, as required.

14. Must perfom1 cleanliness monitoring of all Authority (company) vehicles.

15. Must perform any report preparation, as necessary.

16. Must perform accurate parts and repair record keeping and/or accountability.

17. Must perform educational updates by attending and satisfactorily completing all necessary training in maintenance functions and/or safe operation of all FACT vehicles, as required.

18. Must perform all duties required of Class "B" Technician, Class "C' Mechanic, and Class "D" Serviceperson, as required.

19. Must perform daily VIR slip review and do repairs as necessary.

Supervises all Class "B" Technicians, Class "C' Mechanics, and Class "D" Servicepersons, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

A high school education or GED and at least five (5) years of applicable experience required. Must maintain a valid, current Class B Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the Air Brake restriction removed and be licensed to perform state vehicle inspections in Pennsylvania. Position is a safety sensitive and subject to substance screening tests as governed by FTA regulations and County policy.
