FlexTrades is hiring experienced Welders for long-term, high-paying contract work across the United States. We have immediate project needs in Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska. Job Duties and Responsibilities As a traveling Welder with FlexTrades, you will: Perform MIG welding (C10 Argon/CO2 mix) using push-pull and pulse transfer techniques Perform TIG welding with a foot pedal, ceramic torch nozzle, 3/32 electrode, AC/DC current, and various cup sizes Interpret and follow detailed weld prints, blueprints, and standard operating procedures Execute a wide variety of weld joints including lap, tee, beveled, and flared groove welds Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and some overhead positions Work on fixtured parts to ensure consistent, repeatable welds Weld on aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel plate and tubing Work with materials up to thick for plate and up to 3/8 wall thickness for tube (round and square pipe up to 4 diameter) Perform tube-to-tube and tube-to-plate welding Produce high-quality, cosmetically sound welds (single to three-pass welds) Conduct grinding for rework or cosmetic refinements as needed Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety protocols Pass a PFT/RFT test onsite for PAPR use (powered air-purifying respirator) Position Requirements Must be highly skilled in MIG and TIG welding processes Must be able to read and interpret complex weld blueprints Must have experience working with multiple metal types and various welding positions Must value cosmetic weld quality and consistency Must be comfortable using heavy equipment like forklifts and overhead cranes Must meet physical and safety testing requirements, including drug testing and PAPR clearance Must be willing and able to travel and work on 3- to 12-month assignments Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shifts and perform 50+ hours per week including overtime Pay and Benefits Pay: $32/hour Guaranteed overtime every week at time and a half Paid travel to and from client sites Paid single-occupancy hotel lodging $45/day per diem Access to full health and wellness benefits Flexibility to take time off between assignments Opportunity to work independently and without micromanagement Why Work with FlexTrades?
