Residential Plumbers

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in residential and commercial construction.  Their tasks include troubleshooting systems, replacing malfunctioning fixtures, and installing new pipes.  Other tasks include providing excellent customer service and driving to and from various job sites. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Carry out regular maintenance of plumbing systems at commercial and residential sites 
• Perform installation of plumbing systems at new properties 
• Inspect previously installed plumbing systems at commercial and residential sites 
• Perform any necessary repairs to previously installed systems 
• Answer calls for plumbing issues from general contractors 
• Keep up to date with current safety regulations and requirements for the various plumbing systems a company installs and maintains 
• Work carefully to follow all current regulations for plumbing work to ensure that all installed systems pass inspections 
• Communicate well with clients to ensure client satisfaction 
• Communicate well with team members and fellow employees 
• Manage a work log 
• Keep detailed reports of work done at various job sites 
• Provide information regarding plumbing system upkeep to clients 
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems. 
• Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor. 
• Any additional tasks assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ensure subcontractors have adequate competent persons per their scope of work 
• Order/Oversee material(s) 
• Create and complete punch list 
• Quality Control walk before inspections 
• Schedule final inspection 
• Provide management info to warranty dept (Cert of Substantial Completion) 
• Notify accounting job is complete 
• Assist with changes in order tracking log (proposed/actual/billable/non-billable) 
• Confirm special eq quotes 
• Generate P.O.'s (SAGE Integration) 
• Verify building sequence and SOV match up.  Adjust accordingly 
• SDS/Safety needs 
• Conduct GC /MEP coordination mock-up meetings 
• Order long lead items 
• Generate and manage RFI’s 
• Attend weekly subcontractor meetings w/ GC 
• Lay out all work to be performed 
• Call for courtesy inspection(s)Adjust take-off as needed 
• Manages rentals, parking arrangements 
• Update & prepare as-builts on PlanGrid 

Involvement in required with the following: 

• Participate in the development of Site-Specific Safety Plans 
• Participate in scope/Plan Flip review meeting  
• Generate rough openings 
• Assist with submittal package to GC 
• Add revised shop drawings to PlanGrid 
• Order connex 
• Update manpower log as needed 
• Recommend personnel changes (hiring/firing/quit/relocation) 
• Correct review remarks / EOR Revisions 
• Send rough openings to the framer & GC 
• Sleeve coordination 
• Revise drawings from take-off meetings 
• Assist with owner’s manual and warranty manual 
• Walking the project Jobsite to include the ability to go up and down temporary or permanent stairways 

Qualifications Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• Current Journeyman Plumbing license
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plumbing diagrams 
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills 
• Good physical stamina and strength, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination 
• Knowledge of code requirements 
• Four (4) + years in a related area – Will consider the right candidate with true solid Plumbing experience in the management of projects 

Work Environment:

Work will occasionally be performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust. 

Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required while on a job site.
