Responsibilities:
- HOURS: 5 X 8's HIGHLY PREFERRED CRITERIA:
- 3+ years of experience in civil or municipal utility construction, and operating or assisting with heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, trench rollers, or mini-excavators.
- To be considered a Highly Preferred applicant, the highly preferred criteria must be listed on your resume
- Assist with layout, alignment, and installation of water, sewer, and storm drain pipe (PVC, RCP, ductile iron, etc.)
- Measure and mark pipe elevations using lasers, levels, and grade rods Work in trenches, backfilling, bedding, and compacting soil as needed
- Cut pipe to required lengths and connect using proper fittings, seals, and couplings
- Follow trench safety practices including shoring, shielding, and benching
- Support equipment operators during excavation and placement
- Read and interpret field instructions, markings, and simple blueprints
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Follow all site safety protocols including PPE use and confined space awareness
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of verifiable experience in pipe laying or underground utility installation
- Familiarity with civil sitework and trench safety procedures
- Basic understanding of grades, elevations, and blueprint reading
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Have reliable transportation and strong work ethic
- Have a valid Drivers License and Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Be able to complete and pass pre-employment background check
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying weather, and perform physically demanding tasks
- Be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
