Key Carpenter compensation: 28-35$/HR SHS - Residential Remodeling and Renovation I'm looking for a bright and optimistic lead or helper carpenter. The ideal hire would not only have significant experience in residential remodeling but also strong problem-solving, critical thinking, time management, and communication skills; however endless experience and existing skills are ultimately less critical than enthusiasm and humility and curiosity We take on a broad range of interior and exterior projects- small additions, decks, kitchen/bath, finish- and perform the majority of the work ourselves. As an owner-operator on the tools but dedicated to the business, I need another competent and hardworking person who can work independently, direct and manage a helper when required, and maintain the professional and kindhearted communication that we offer our clients. I'm young in the trades and in business, and still truly enjoy wearing the bags and seeing the projects realized. I am not looking to transition into a full-time earpiece-phonecall-trucksitting-coffeedrinking-paperpushing guy; but as the season and position develop, the goal is for me to be on site 50-75% of the working week, and to utilize the rest of the time for admin/sales/pre-con etc. that is currently dominating my nights and weekends. What You'll Do: * Execute high-quality work on projects within 20 miles of Portland, occasionally farther afield * Assist with project management, occasionally coordinating sub-trades * Work efficiently independently as well as directly with me, helpers, and our clients * Offer creative solutions to the challenges that arise in day-to-day operations * Represent our values and maintain our reputation on and off the site What You Need: * Solid carpentry experience and technical skills * Problem-solving ability and attention to detail * A moral compass, humility, and strong sense of personal agency * Reliable transportation, valid license, and some of your own basic tools * Good communication skills * A sense of humor and the common sense to know your audience * No active substance use disorders Whats in it for you: This is a small young lean operation focused on quality over quantity.
