Job Summary
Job Description
Position Responsibilities
•Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and otherdocumentation pertinent to commissioning.
•Develop project specific Commissioning Plans
•Develop detailed functional testing procedures for HVAC, Controls, Plumbing andElectrical Systems.
•Independently coordinate and lead multidisciplinary teams to complete field verificationtesting of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control systems
•Assist in system and equipment troubleshooting based on observations and buildingperformance analysis
•Review startup activities and documentation for proper adherence with contractdocuments and manufacturer recommendations
•Work directly with project stake-holders (including contractors, designers, and owner’srepresentatives) to resolve critical issues
•Produce succinct and accurate reports of field observations that allow clients andcontractors to maintain a project schedule while addressing potential problems
•Consult and problem-solve with clients, engineers, and contractors regarding projectplanning, unintended difficulties, and sustainable initiatives
•Perform investigative assessments of existing facilities and develop recommendations forimprovements/refurbishment
•Directly supervise, assess, and provide ongoing constructive feedback for commissioningtechnicians and interns
•Develop and maintain commissioning process schedules; track and provide input ongeneral construction schedules
•Review final commissioning implementation plans and summary reports for accuracy andcompleteness
•Occasional out of town travel required
Required Qualifications
•A minimum of 5 years field experience in hands-on testing, troubleshooting of largeHVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical systems.
•BS in mechanical engineering preferred but will substitute significant years of experiencefor exceptional candidates. This experience would include commissioning or designing oflarge HVAC and or Electrical systems.
•The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
•The ability to work independently or in a team.
•Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple taskssimultaneously.
•Demonstrate proficient computer skills,
Preferred Qualifications
•Knowledge of test and balance procedures.
•Experience with the LEED process and/or ability to obtain LEED Certification
•Commissioning certification from AABC/ACG or BCA – or ability to obtain certification
