Diesel Mechanic ($25-$35/hour starting out!) Job Description We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our team, specializing in diesel engines, vehicle systems, and preventative maintenance on on-highway diesel-powered commercial freight vehicles. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of diesel engines and related vehicle systems using diagnostic tools and equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on transmissions, air brake systems, electrical systems, and other key components. Execute fabrication and welding tasks. Maintain accurate records of all supplies and repairs, including parts used, core returns, work completed, and time spent. Assist in ordering and maintaining an inventory of parts, tools, and equipment necessary for repairs. Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding repairs needed, estimated costs, and timelines. Utilize problem-solving skills for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues to find efficient and practical solutions. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic. Proficiency in diesel engine repair, transmission, mechanical, and electrical systems. Expertise in hydraulics and pneumatics. Computer diagnostics skills.
