Operator I (two openings)

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:- High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of heavy equipment, welding and safety procedures, road construction and concrete- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; effectively and appropriately communicate; understand and comply with laws, regulations, policy and directives; and interact effectively and appropriately with public and employees- Maintain a valid Montana Commercial Drivers License (CDL), or be able to obtain one within six (6) months of employment- Occupational certification for heavy equipment operation and other endorsements as mandated by law and/or policy- Occupational certification as a forklift/loader operator, flagger and motor grader operator as awarded by the Montana Local Technical Assistance Program- Ability to use hand-toolsDUTIES INCLUDE:- Operate heavy equipment- Plow snow and sand icy roads- Blade roads- Haul gravel, scoria, tar pot and other materials and equipment to jobsites- Change water channels- Install culverts, car gates and cattle guards- Operate rollers to prepare road beds- Install and maintain bridge markers and street signs- Build concrete retaining walls- Fill washouts- Mow road shoulders- Make minor repairs to equipmentFull-time, permanent positions working 40 hours per week. Two positions open in Richey.$19.57 per hour.
