The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor. **This position, under direction of the Site Development Unit (SDU) Supervisor, exists to provide leadership and vision for the Minnesota Department of Transportation's (MnDOT) Safety Rest Area (SRA) Program with an asset value exceeding $250M for more than 50 facilities and serve as the subject matter expert on SRAs.** **It entails selecting, prioritizing, linking, and aligning SRA projects within the program while understanding their dependencies to help achieve optimum benefits of the program for the department.** **It requires a strategic focus on the big picture and is measured by the implementation and realization of benefits such as improved SRA conditions, heightened customer satisfaction, system sustainability and strategic agency investment.** **As MnDOT's expert in safety rest areas, the position also involves facilitating, coaching, and guiding Central Office (CO) and district project managers and their teams to achieve the strategic goals of the SRA Program and the position inherently involves stakeholder management, benefits management, and governance.** MnDOT does not sponsor applicants for visas or Optional Practical Exam for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment. **Minimum Qualifications** Applicants must be licensed as a professional Landscape Architect with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design or be able to obtain licensure through commodity. AND Three (3) years of advanced professional experience as a licensed Landscape Architect doing the following work: + Experience managing all phases of landscape architectural design projects, including field investigations, scoping, environmental documentation, conceptual and detailed site design, contract document preparation, assessing restoration scenarios, and construction support; + Experience applying state and federal codes governing landscape architectural design, construction industry standards, and the ability to interpret and apply standards during design, bidding and constructions; accessibility guidelines related to site projects including the ADA, PROWAG, and Minnesota State Building Code; + Experience conveying, verbally and in writing, complex information in a clear, concise manner that's easily understood and applied by users with a wide range of technical and professional knowledge; + Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Suite **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience working in an institutional environment or for institutional clients, such as Federal, State, municipal, or local government, or quasi-governmental entities, such as Universities, cooperative districts, and parks organizations. **Additional Requirements** REFERENCE/BACKGROUND CHECKS: **Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and criminal history check** It is our policy that all candidates submit to a background investigation prior to employment.
