Job Requirements:

Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.

Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.

Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with power saws to match measurements).

Operate Angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.

Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.

Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).

Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.

Test and inspect welded services and structures to detect flaws.

Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

Educations and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required

One or two years of welding experience

Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) preferred

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Proven certified experience as a welder

Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG,MMA etc.)

Experience in using electrical and manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)

Ability to read and interrupt technical documents and drawings.

Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shield, gloves etc.)

Deftness and attention to detail.

Knowledge required by not limited to: Understanding OSHA regulations, ISO 9001:2000 requirements, company organization structure, knowledge of dangers associated with heavy moving equipment and machinery, ability to understand procedures/JSAs/work instructions.

Essential Physical Requirement:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. You will frequently be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighting up to 50 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including reaching, stretching, bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy equipment. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate.

You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty.
