Senior Engineering Project Manager SHIFT : Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm SALARY : $89,800 - $100,000 annually (DOE) + Full Benefits Package LOCATION : Remote This position requires the person to manage bridge projects during engineering, detailing, fabrication, delivery, and project closeout. This person will be responsible for making sure that all projects assigned are designed following all bridge design specifications and are properly detailed for fabrication. This position also requires reviewing, signing, and sealing other engineers work and checking it for completeness and accuracy. This person will be a technical expert on all aspects of bridge products. Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the TrueNorth Steel Game Changer definition. Responsible for managing contracts and negotiated bridge projects during engineering, detailing, fabrication, delivery, and project close-out phase. Oversee project management and design of all bridge projects assigned. Design will include performing complex egineering computations and properly designing structures to all AASHTO, AISC, ACI, State and Local Codes. Create bridge models using structural software and evaluate for completeness. Review and follow project drawings and specifications and apply them to bridge designs. Review shop drawings produced by TNS Drafting Staff to make sure drawings are correct to the design and project requirements. Review sign and seal other bridge engineer's designs and calculations. Review contract documents and specifications to ensure all requirements are distributed to appropriate personnel. Establish and maintain project milestone dates through communication with customers, subcontractors, and internal departments. Ensure drawings get to appropriate customer and TNS personnel, including document control. Compile submittals for approval including but not limited to drawings, calculations, AISC Certification, WPS's, and Welder certifications. Proficiency at creating bridge designs in an accurate and timely manner. Process RFI's. Cut POs for buyout items from vendors. Work with purchasing on bridge material forecasting. Manage MTR or any other needed certifications for buyouts and for the overall project for the customer as required per specifications. Take overall ownership of assigned projects to ensure successful completion on time and within budget. Understand the design of all TNS bridge products including Steel Deck, SuperSill, and prefabricated backwalls and have the ability to design around capabilities and restrictions. Assist with maintaining and updating TNS design tools. Perform Bridge Load Ratings. Assist with structural engineering needs throughout the company as needed. Value engineer connections and other structural components to best fit our fabrication needs. Occasionally travel to project locations, fabrication sites, trade shows, and continuing education seminars. Prompt and dependable attendance. Other duties as assigned. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, and common structural engineering design software. Experience using IES and AASHTOWare BrR is preferred. Possesses the ability to work independently. Knowledge of bridge design programs. Knowledge of AASHTO, AISC, ACI, NDS, ASCE-7, and other structural codes. Ability to read and understand plans and specs. Excellent communication skills and ability to bring parties together to achieve ultimate outcome. Ability to operate in a team and to speak up, express opinions, share ideas and do so assertively. Ability to operate at a rapid pace which will require ability to triage priorities and take action. Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions. Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word and in writing clearly and concisely and actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others. Attention to detail. Ability to read bridge plans and interpret specifications. Ability to hold drafting staff, shop personnel, and other bridge engineers accountable to maintain project timelines, ensure accuracy, and quality. Willingness to strive to get ahead and direct a project to completion. Ability to deal with others in an antagonistic situation. Five to Ten years' experience in civil engineering and structural design. A PE license or the ability to obtain one in one (1) years or less.
