Salary: $35.00 - $50.00 Hour W2 DOE

Work Site Location: Wallingford, CT (Onsite Position Monday-Friday 7am - 5pm)

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and innovative

Civil/Structural Engineer

to join their engineering team. This position plays a critical role in the design, analysis, and implementation of civil and structural systems for precast and prefabricated concrete products. The ideal candidate will support both standard and custom projects for infrastructure, utility, and building applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and review engineering designs for precast concrete structures including manholes, vaults, utility structures, culverts, bridges, and custom building components.

Prepare detailed drawings, calculations, and specifications for production and construction in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, and company standards.

Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, general contractors, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.

Perform structural and load calculations for concrete elements using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and structural analysis tools (e.g., RISA, SAP2000, STAAD).

Provide technical support to manufacturing, sales, and field operations teams during fabrication, installation, and post-installation processes.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT, ASTM, and ACI standards.

Conduct site visits, field inspections, and quality assurance reviews when necessary.

Assist in value engineering efforts to reduce costs while maintaining structural integrity and performance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or FE/EIT with the ability to obtain PE

3-7 years of experience in civil or structural engineering, preferably with a focus on concrete or precast products

Strong knowledge of design codes including ACI, ASCE, AASHTO, and local building codes

Proficient in AutoCAD and structural analysis software

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Self-motivated, highly organized, and solutions-driven
