ABR is recruiting a 1st shift Welder for a client in Westfield. Hours are Monday - Thursday, 6am-4:30pm with possible over time on Fridays. Wage: $16.50 - $19.00 based on certification and experience
Welder Summary: Performs a variety of semi-skilled welding and machinist jobs under close supervision. Requires a moderate degree of mechanical, technical and/or analytic knowledge and experience.
Welder Essential Functions:
Perform specific weld operations and set ups.
Performs duties as specified by work instructions, work orders, and blueprints.
May layout and mark weld pints using rule, square, or templates.
Positions pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.
Makes accept or reject decisions on components.
Welder Qualification Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
1-5 years MIG welding experience
Ability to exchange information with co-workers, and work as part of a team.
Good math skills (fractions, decimals).
Ability to read and understand blueprints, bills of material, shop orders, parts numbers, parts lists and defect charts.
Must be able to understand quality standards.
Ability to comprehend safety instructions.
Ability to lift 1-30 pounds intermittently.
General computer skills.
Must be able to operate a forklift truck.
Welder Expectations:
Respect all other employees and function as part of team
Read and understand work instructions and part specifications
Follow all safety requirements
Follow all quality system requirements
Follow LEAN methods, including standard work, one piece flow
Exceed minimum performance standards as defined by your leader
