Purpose of Role: In this role, you will have an opportunity to lead a critical team that supports our electrical control devices and technology that drives the equipment and operations at the facility. This position will also be a key part of leading and implementing future technology advancements in automation, error proofing, and technology upgrades to provide reliable systems for the facility. This role will also include other activities at the site level for maintaining and sustaining our key principles for Safety, Environment, and Operations through our Facilities team that will include activities from facility upkeep to daily compliance and procedural related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for optimizing machinery and equipment uptime through electrical and controls systems to ensure achievement of operational plans
  • Continue to grow and transform the Controls team culture from a "break down" to systems based approach, which will be reviewing root cause of the issue/failure, and work toward improvements in controls, logic, devices, process, etc. that will aid in improvements and prevention of repeat failure issues.
  • Continue to optimize, budget, and deliver planned Department expenses for the facility Develop direct reports and organizational capability within the department for added skillsets, job work quality, shift skillset versatility, and develop and drive problem solving within the team.
  • Lead and direct Facilities and Control teams to deliver on facility vision of driving 6s improvements in all responsible areas.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Electrical fields or 5+ years of equivalent work experience directly related to the job role in an industrial environment with electrical systems, controls, logic, PLC systems, and general facility utilities, devices, and equipment.
  • Prior leadership experience in skilled trades with a demonstrated ability to coach others.
  • Excellent reading, writing, and verbal skills, and ability to read and interpret equipment mechanical and electrical design and control circuit prints.
  • Capable of understanding and performing financial analyses
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products, Strong systematic problem solving and analytical capability
