Diesel Mechanic

Omni-Serv, a Group One Company, is currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with diesel engines and a strong desire to provide exceptional service to our customers. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and vehicles .

Compensation: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour (Based on experience), medical, vision, dental, life insurance, 401 (available after a year of service)

Scope of Work:

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and vehicles . In addition to overseeing and leading electrical projects, ensuring that installations and repairs are carried out to code, and providing guidance and supervision to junior electricians.

• Perform a variety of electrical trade functions in accordance with local and national electrical codes
• Read, interpret and understand electrical /mechanical blueprints, wiring drawings, schematics
• Troubleshoot, repair, and install AC and DC circuits of various voltages, power distribution systems, fire detection/suppression systems, HVAC systems, VFDs and Programmable Logic Controllers, motor controllers, lighting systems, and controls
• Troubleshoot and repair facilities electrical and/ or mechanical equipment, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, water and waste systems, etc.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure efficient completion of projects
• Maintain PMs and WOs for all areas of responsibility using the facilitys CMMS system
• Perform other general duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

• Completion of a diesel mechanic program or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and vehicles
• Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines and vehicles
• Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Must have a valid US driver's license with at least 3 years of experience- approvals and final decision is subjected to our automobile insurance carrier's criteria

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat for extended periods
• Dexterity and hand-eye coordination crucial for use of tools and working on engine components
• Must be able lift up-to 50 pounds unassisted

Shift: 6:00am 2:30pm, Monday to Friday
