Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Reports To: Superintendent
Schedule Hrs: 8.0 hrs/day
Start Date: 2025-2026 School Year
JOB PURPOSE:
This position provides maintenance services with specific responsibilities for maintain the facilities and equipment for safe operating condition; addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns; overseeing the duties of custodial staff and building cleanliness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Background check will be required
Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds
Valid Alaska driver's license or ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment
Previous experience or training as a maintenance technician with knowledge of the principles and practices of general trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating, roofing, glazing, locksmithing, and automotive repair.
Ability to work on own initiative and prioritize tasks.
PC Experience in Data Entry.
Ability to read blueprints and/or technical drawings.
Experience operating snow blowers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures that snow removal is done in a timely manner to ensure the safety of all stakeholders
?Ensure that all new maintenance and/or custodial staff have completed all required and necessary training as required by the District and Alaska Statutes
Ensures that all maintenance and custodial staff are trained in building protocols and procedures so that maintenance of the building is effective
Maintains keys and key checkout with the necessary records of such
Establishes necessary procedures to ensure the security of the building
Maintains District vehicles
Keeps building and district administration informed of any issues or needs within the district
Inspects facilities systems and components (e.g. gutters, culverts, drainage structures, pumps, motors, roofs etc.) for the purpose of preventing damage and/or limiting liability exposure
Recommends improvements to increase efficiency
Responds to emergency situations during scheduled and unscheduled work hours
Participates in meetings, workshops, trainings and seminars to convey and/or gather information to improve job performance
May act as a custodian.
