Job Posting: Equipment Mechanic I/II - Ventura County, CA 3-month stint, potentially longer. Full-Time | Monday-Friday | Pay $35/hr (DOE) | Opportunities for Advancement A local public agency is hiring for an Equipment Mechanic I or II , responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of medium to heavy vehicles and construction equipment. Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems Perform preventative maintenance and full/partial engine overhauls Conduct BIT inspections and emission tests Perform basic welding and fabrication Maintain accurate repair records using shop software Respond to emergency repairs in the field Requirements: Mechanic I: High school diploma or equivalent + 2 years of vehicle repair experience Mechanic II: High school diploma or equivalent + 6 years of experience, including work on complex hydraulic, electrical, and fire pump systems Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in various physical positions Familiarity with diagnostic tools, micrometers, welding equipment, and safe shop practices Valid California driver's license; Class A license preferred or must be obtained within one year Preferred: Vocational training in medium/heavy vehicle or construction equipment maintenance Experience with municipal vehicles and field repair Please call ... to apply! #Oxnard
