NG Microelectronics Center is seeking a Principal/Sr Principal Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Layout Designer Engineer in Beavercreek, OH (Dayton, OH) to support architecture definition and product design. We are seeking engineers with the desire to learn new technologies to join our innovative organization to help develop, enhance and maintain Digital and RF designs on cutting edge products and systems. Our wide breadth of technologies and capabilities allows us to provide our customers with unique More than Moore solutions.

The selected individual will work on board designs across the full product life cycle process. In this capacity, you will utilize your working knowledge of Layout and Library tools.

In this role you will:

Work with all engineering disciplines to incorporate their constraints into the Mentor Xpedition PCB CAD database

Understand and adhere to the core Product Engineering PCB design processes, ensuring that the team understands and remain compliant

Develop an expert understanding of our high reliability design standards

Lead PCB design reviews, and help to create PCB design schedules

Become knowledgeable with our internal build specs, industry standards, and understand PCB manufacturability.

Perform PCB Librarian duties such as symbol and cell creation and verification

Define PCB stackups and mechanical structures

Perform complex circuit card layout tasks including DDR memory interfaces, high speed SERDES links, high density interconnects, RF transmission lines, and RF shapes

Simulate completed PCB designs for crosstalk, loss, and signal integrity issues

This position can be filled as a Principal PCB Layout Engineer or Senior Principal PCB Layout Engineer.

Basic Qualifications for Principal PCB Layout Engineer:

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, technology, engineering, or related discipline with at least 5 years of experience; 3 years with Masters Degree; OR 1 years with a PhD

Experience with layout of complex printed circuit boards using industry standard design tools

Current understanding of IPC industry standards

Knowledge of how PCBs are produced and current understanding of design and manufacturability challenges

Full design cycle participation of a complex circuit card

Must be a US Citizen

Clearance: must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance with Polygraph

Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal PCB Layout Engineer:

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, technology, engineering, or related discipline with at least 8 years of experience; 6 years with Masters Degree; OR 4 years with a PhD

Experience with layout of complex printed circuit boards using industry standard design tools

Current understanding of IPC industry standards

Knowledge of how PCBs are produced and current understanding of design and manufacturability challenges

Full design cycle participation of a complex circuit card

Must be a US Citizen

Clearance: must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance with Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Experience with Siemens Xpedition layout and library tools

Experience with electronic packaging / mechanical design

Experience with electronics design development

Mixed signal design experience

An active Top Secret w/ SCI clearance

Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00Salary Range 2: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
