Summary of Position:
Supervises, develops and coordinates activities of maintenance associates responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing equipment/machinery, physical structures, and grounds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Always promote safety through demonstrating and managing adherence to policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Conduct monthly department safety meetings and ensure team has thorough understanding.
- Manage 20-30 technicians. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws
- Hire and develop a skilled maintenance team to support Wausau operations, facilities and grounds.
- Review and support apprentice activities for state requirements and progress on work experience to meet program requirements.
- Set performance expectations and measure effectiveness of resources, schedule configuration and results with metrics focus on equipment uptime and efficiency.
- Provide coaching and performance management for maintenance personnel to optimize the team effectiveness. This includes daily feedback, recognition, and disciplinary action where appropriate.
- Develop, manage and monitor effectiveness and efficiency of preventative maintenance program with a focus on equipment uptime and maintenance efficiency.
- Develop and manage efficient methods for managing maintenance activities, work requests and purchasing and stocking of parts.
- Responsible for ensuring that the team receives comprehensive training to complete all required tasks.
- Demonstrated behaviors that show close attention to detail which lead to successful troubleshooting, project execution to plan & budget, as well as clear communication with both team members and stake holders.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills that demonstrate an ability to resolve problems through root cause identification.
- Team player who can work effectively and respectfully with a variety of people. Sensitive to other cultures/backgrounds, able to work in a multi-cultural workplace and promote and support diversity and inclusion.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Must be willing and able to take calls outside of regular hours as needed
- Self-directed initiative and ability to work independently in a multi-tasking environment, as well as part of a team
- Plan, organize, and schedule the work of department personnel to complete facility projects, repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Develop written standard operating procedures and work instructions for key processes.
- Apply Lean principles in own work performance and drive Lean applications with trades team.
- Promote teamwork in a safe and enjoyable work environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge and familiarity with the maintenance in manufacturing environment.
- Requires strong communication skills, open communications, ability to convey information both verbally or in written form clear and concisely, speak confidently in group meetings with piers and or co-workers, and good attentive listening.
- Supervisory experience preferred, progressive roles in leadership a requirement.
- Knowledge of painting and anodizing processes preferred.
- Project Management Tools & Experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment needed.
- Must be proficient with computer and software application, word, excel, and iMaintenance.

- Physical level 3
- Must work at heights (example, working on overhead cranes)

- Exposure to noise from equipment
- Exposure to smells (paint and chemical fumes)
- Exposure to heat/cold/humidity
- Sometimes working with dirty parts/equipment
