Welder/ Fabricator Paying $25/ HR - $32/ HR Location - Vancouver, WA Join our team as a Swing Fabricator, where you will engage in welding for a custom job shop. This role requires expertise in welding and fitting, primarily using carbon steel and employing MIG/FCAW welding techniques. You will work with very tight tolerances, up to .0060, and be responsible for blueprint reading, layout, and fit-up. We are also seeking proficiency in TIG welding with aluminum, emphasizing a 'can do' attitude. Responsibilities: Perform welding and fitting tasks using MIG/FCAW welding techniques with carbon steel. Work with tight tolerances up to .0060, ensuring precision and accuracy. Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols for layout and fit-up. Engage in TIG welding with aluminum, reading prints/layouts effectively. Weld in horizontal, flat, and vertical positions (1, 2, and 3). Qualifications: Experience in a structural welding/fitting environment preferred. Strong skills in blueprint reading and layout fitting. A proactive and independent work ethic. Environment/ Shift: Work in a custom metal shop environment with a strong family-type culture. The shop is medium-sized and features an open-door policy with management. Be prepared to work in a non-heated environment, as both bay doors remain open during the winter, requiring comfort with cold weather conditions. Swing Shift: 3:30pm-1:30am.
