Machine Design Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing innovative solutions within the industrial dryers, washers, and oven sector. You will be responsible for generating detailed design drawings and participating in the development of new products.

Responsibilities

  • Generate drawings and coach others in using 3D SolidWorks.
  • Prepare BOMs and assembly drawings.
  • Select components based on critical design requirements.
  • Calculate designs required for conveyance, washing, heating, and structural systems.
  • Check drawings and calculations created by peers.
  • Obtain quotes from vendors for purchased components.
  • Collaborate with accounting to execute purchase orders.
  • Provide technical support to engineering functions, sales, and marketing.
  • Organize project drawing files and folders, as well as drawing archives.
  • Create and maintain standard drawings.
  • Work with vendors on manufacturing capabilities, with a travel requirement of 10%.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in 3D SolidWorks and 2D AutoCAD.
  • Experience in sheet metal and structural design.
  • Familiarity with conveyance, heating, and washing systems.
  • Strong skills in using spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
  • Capability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in machine design and mechanical engineering.
  • Knowledge of product design and development.
  • Understanding of conveyor systems and piping design.
Work Environment

This position is based in an office environment on-site in Hartland, IW. It requires collaboration with various departments and occasional travel to vendors.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
