The Opportunity

The Opportunity

This Remote Operations Center (ROC) Senior Operator position is based out of the Overland Park, KS office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

* Operates distributed energy assets in real-time from the Remote Operations Center (ROC), ensuring compliance with dispatch instructions and site-specific procedures.

* Interface with multiple parties for identification, diagnosis, and resolution of site operations and maintenance problems, including the site O&M team, site owner, regulatory agencies, and B&V project teams.

* Leads and mentors junior operators, supporting their development and potentially acting as a supervisor or ROC Manager when needed.

* Supports shift scheduling and rotational coverage, collaborating with the ROC Manager to maintain 24/7 operations.

* Assist with Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) teams using predictive analytics for proactive monitoring of power generation, renewables, process industries, and generation assets.

* Drives continuous improvement, contributing to process development, training programs, and onboarding of new operators and clients.

* Engages in business development activities, including proposal input and participation in planning meetings.

* Provides advanced technical expertise in distributed energy systems, control applications, and document control processes.

The Team

Black & Veatch's Asset Management Team focuses on helping clients plan, operate, maintain, monitor, rehabilitate, and replace their assets in the right way at the right time. The result is that clients optimize asset performance, manage risk, and drive down operational, maintenance, and capital costs.

The Remote Operations Center Team is a specialized group responsible for operating and monitoring assets for clients as well as documenting and tracking progress of maintenance related work. This Lead Operator position will report to the Asset Management Operations Manager.

Preferred Qualifications * 5+ years of related work experience * Associate Degree, certificate, or trades/vocational experience preferred * Previous Operations experience related to Battery Storage, Solar, Wind, Simple Cycle Thermal Generation, or Combined Cycle Thermal Generation * Lead Operator role experience * Industry knowledge including technology and project management * Demonstrated knowledge of Power Plant systems and processes * Power Plant experience * Basic knowledge of NERC responsibilities * Basic knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles * Team leadership experience Minimum Qualifications * High School diploma required Certifications Work Environment and Schedule This position would require working in a typical office environment. The position may entail prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, and the professional would ideally be able to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday. The Strategic Communications Manager position will drive consistent communications strategy, planning and messaging internally across the organization. Key Responsibilities * Develop and lead the implementation of internal communications strategy and messaging aiming to increase employee engagement and message clarity. * Create and deliver internal communications content across multiple channels, including email updates, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations. * Proactively work with key stakeholders, including executives, across the organization to ensure that all internal communication is aligned with business objectives and supports the company's culture and values. * Identify and implement innovative communications tools and techniques to enhance internal communications effectiveness. * Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis. This includes gathering engagement data, analyzing trends, and reporting insights to communications leadership. * Maintain an enterprise content calendar to ensure that internal communications are timely, relevant, and efficiently organized. * Collaborate with business enablement function leaders such as HR and Marketing for planning and content development for meetings and other internal events. * Partner with all members of the Employee Communications team to proactively identify, create, and publish content, while also supporting editorial planning and long-term scheduling of communication initiatives.
