Project Manager - Data Center Network Infrastructure Construction

Role Overview:
Serve as the primary on-site liaison for the network infrastructure and security integration teams, ensuring smooth coordination, execution, and delivery of structured cabling, security systems, and related infrastructure components. Support project execution across multiple phases from planning and procurement to construction oversight, vendor management, and final closeout.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaison & Communication
Act as the primary point of contact at the campus level for network infrastructure and security-related partner teams.
Coordinate partner notifications, timelines, and vendor training.
Capture stakeholder expectations and maintain support through active communication and issue resolution.
Site & Construction Oversight
Conduct weekly (or more frequent) site walks to review construction progress, quality, and safety.
Facilitate Digital Communications Hub (DCH) walks and ensure EH&S compliance.
Participate in design meetings and page-turn reviews as needed.
Attend weekly construction, design, and issue-specific meetings.
Project Kickoffs & Coordination
Facilitate structured fiber kickoff meetings, including:
Reviewing BPR/SR and identifying priority panels (OSP and ISP).
Scheduling alignment with ancillary system requirements and CLSD checklist milestones.
Lead security kickoff coordination with reviews across:
Telecom, electrical, and door hardware sets.
Security commissioning schedule vs. OFCI deliverables.
Coordinate GRadio kickoffs and manage RF surveys and wireless design with vendors.
Material & Vendor Management
Initiate and track procurement activities, including PFRs, funding requests, material POs, and RFPs.
Coordinate OFCI procurement: review BOMs, issue RFQs, and oversee material logistics (fiber, WAPs, switches, security archivers).
Manage bundled fiber requests, PickList use, Move Order Requests (MORs), and G-Tide tracking.
Ensure proper material delivery to contractors and maintain material trackers for verification.
Onboarding & Compliance
Onboard telecom firms and security integrators for NICon projects.
Initiate Smart Track Work Package requests (SIMBA ID, PO, etc.).
Oversee compliance document submission and onboarding classes.
Request Chromebooks and scanners for contractors post-onboarding.
Documentation & Systems Management
Maintain and update key systems and trackers:
Partner Portal, Buganizer (including SLO tracking and postmortems), DCViz, MARCUS, Risk/Rappy & Fluxx.
Regularly review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and invoices.
Distribute fiber blueprints, cutsheets, and scopes.
Ensure accuracy of rack layouts and cabling routes.
Project Execution & Financials
Act as an on-site extension of the DCS team while leveraging global discipline-focused support.
Monitor project milestones, manage contractors, and ensure SLA adherence.
Track budget actuals, expenditures, and cash flow monthly.
Support change management, risk mitigation, and final project closeout including warranty work coordination.
Productivity, Quality & Safety
Conduct regular field safety walks and input observations into BOTG.
Monitor site-level productivity, resource efficiency, and ensure consistent performance.
Scale subcontractor labor as needed based on project demands.
Enforce safety, quality, and compliance standards across all phases of construction.
Reporting & Deliverables
Submit progress updates, budget reports, milestone tracking, and completion certifications.
Perform invoice pre-approvals and escalate issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
Conclude project lifecycle with closeout actions, warranty tracking, and post-install support coordination.
The compensation range for this position is competitive based on experience.
