This position will be filled as a promotion; you must be a current permanent employee of the State of Louisiana, serving in a Classified position, in order to qualify.

Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience: Four years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus two years of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses plus two years of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant. Job Duties:

This is a highly responsible maintenance position that acts as the assistant to the Facility Maintenance Manager and Assistant Facility Maintenance Manager with the responsibilities of prioritizing, planning, assigning, and oversight of all the maintenance repairer positions. The position directs and performs skilled mechanical maintenance work in the installation, operation, repair, preventative maintenance of the air conditioning. (HVAC) refrigeration, ventilation, plumbing, and basic electrical systems throughout the museum complexes. The position is responsible for quality assurance of the work being performed, ensured safe work practices are in place, equipment safety, and that museum assignments are completed properly and in a timely manner. The position is responsible for keeping records of preventative maintenance schedules and ensuring that the equipment records are up to date. The position will assist with the compliance of all outside HVAC contractors and prepare reports as necessary.
